At Pearl Asian Kitchen, our dining rooms invite you to experience the enigma that Hong Kong is known for. Hong Kong is the birthplace of our owner and your hostess, Rose Wong. Known as The Pearl of the Orient by those who live there, Hong Kong is a robust blend of East and West cultures, a union of traditional and modern, all centered on bustling Victoria Harbor and nestled in the glory of the surrounding mountain peaks.
Our new restaurant is a portal to a one-of-a-kind world. Featuring generously spaced, jade-hued tables and red chairs, the wood floors remind you of the salt-bleached planks of a ship. With full-height photo murals of the harbor and skyline, imagine you’re dining on a ship deck and surrounded by the red-sailed junks that dominate Hong Kong’s busy waters. Dark wood cabinetry, quartz countertops, velour-and-gauze curtains, and red-lacquered walls create an atmosphere that is modern and new – just as Hong Kong itself balances both worlds.

The Rice Shop is another solo venture of chef Anthony Zappola, owner of Lox, Stock, and Brisket and Le Stand. He first opened the Rice Shop in Las Vegas, where it received rave reviews. Opening the first Cleveland location in 2018, the concept continued to thrive in northeast Ohio. Finally, the Rice Shop found its home at the Van Aken District, once again fusing American techniques with Asian ingredients and pleasing the palettes of District visitors.Learn More
