SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Lee Road Action Plan got the green light from City Council Monday (March 27) to proceed next year with engineering and design for a “road diet,” bikeway and streetscape.

Construction on the proposal for $24 million in public improvements would commence in 2027 for the “community-driven, visionary reinvestment plan to comprehensively transform the area south of Van Aken Boulevard into a thriving corridor and commercial district that is attractive, walkable, bikeable and transit-friendly,” according to information from the city.
